Etsy Clear Summer Crochet DIY kit pattern

Abbreviation:
Ch - Chain
SC - Single Crochet
Sl St - Slip Stitch

The Tools and Items in the Kit:

1 4.5mm Crochet Hook
1 Tapestry Needle
1 Gold Buckle Clip
1 Long Shoulder Strap Gold Chain (10-120cm)
1 Short Pearl Hand Strap
2 D Rings
2 Transparent Acrylic Broad
2-6 Stitch Markers
2 Skeins of T-shirt Yarn (100 grams)

With each acrylic broad, there are 48 punch Holes and there is a protective lining which you must peel of before you start crocheting them.

The First Acrylic Broad

Let's start off with the broad where your buckles will attach with, have them facing to you in a horizontal way so we can find the middle punch hole, or if you have attached your buckle already measure it with your yarn or hook and find the middle hole. Count from the middle with 8 holes and that is where you will be starting your first stitch at.

Round 1: Put your crochet hook through the hole and wrap your yarn over pull through, yarn over once more. This is your starting stitch(basically your slip knot) with yarn on the hook, put your hook in the second hole and yarn over, pull through with 2 yarn over hook, yarn over and pull through once more. You have created your first Single Crochet
Continue on with the SC all the way through with a total of 47 SC, with the last SC (48) it will be in the same hole as your starting stitch (Slip knot). Sl St with the first SC of the row and Chain 1 turn your work.

Round 2: Stitch mark the first SC and Continue for a total of 34 SC, (with 14 stitches un-crochet) chain 1 and turn your work.

Round 3: SC in each stitch for a total of 34 SC (14 stitches un-crochet), leave about 50 inches of yarn out and cut, pull through.

Second Arcylic Board

Now with the second acrylic board, you can start off with any punch hole but basically doing a duplicated first broad.

Round 1: SC around the broad, Sl St the last SC with the first SC. (Total of 48 SC) chain 1.
Round 2: SC 34, (14 stitches un-crochet) chain 1 and turn your work
Round 3: SC 34, (14 stitches un-crochet) leave about 6 inches of yarn out and cut, pull through.

THE LID

The second acrylic is also where our lid will be crocheted on, so let's start with new yarn.

Row 1: This is the base SC row with 14 stitches of space.

Row 2: Increase Row Start by attaching with new yarn on the first SC hole/space, (Put hook through first SC hole, yarn over, pull through, with one yarn on the hook, yarn over once more, and pull through. This is your slip knot) do your first SC on the same hole and do 3 more SC (4 SC total). On your 5th SC do an increase, so another SC on the 5th SC hole. Continue with another 4 SC and increase on the 5th and SC last 4 stitches. ( Total of 16 SC)

Row 3: SC stitches all the way through (Total of 16 SC) Chain 1 and turns work.

Row 4: SC every stitch all the way through (Total of 16 SC) Chain 1 and turn work.

Row 5: Decrease Row by skipping the first stitch and crochet from the second stitch, continue SC until the last 2 stitches do a decrease (by combining 2 SC together) Chain 1 and turn work. (Total of 14 SC)

Row 6: SC every stitch all the way through. Chain 1 and turn work. (Total of 14 SC)

Row 7: Decrease Row by skipping the first stitch and crochet from the second stitch, continue SC every stitch. (Total of 13 SC)

Row 8: Decrease 1 stitch and SC every stitch. (Total of 12 SC)

Row 9: Decrease 1 stitch and SC every stitch. (Total of 11 SC)

Row 10: Decrease 1 stitch and SC every stitch. (Total of 10 SC)

Row 11: Decrease 1 stitch and SC every stitch. (Total of 9 SC)

Row 12: Decrease 1 stitch and SC every stitch. (Total of 8 SC)

Row 13: Decrease 1 stitch and last stitch. (Total of 6 SC) leave about an inch out and cut.

We have finished off with the lid, but it might look a little messy on the edges so let's make an outline for it. Start with a new yarn attaching to the base yarn but NOT on any of the 14 stitches, attach it with the SC from the body's 34 SCs and SC to the lid's side with each row. When reaching the 13th row do an extra 14th row of SC and SC back up on the other side, close it off with an SC from the 34 SCs.

Attaching

Now we have finished off with our pieces, it's time for the attachment. So at this time I still have not attached my buckle yet, we need to figure our right side and wrong side of the bag. Most of the time our neat side is on the inside so I will go ahead and flip it, make sure it looks good, and feel good so go ahead and attach that buckle on the broad.

With your tapestry needle attach it with the longer yarn between the two boards. Aligned the two pieces and sew them together. Make sure you sew them side by side so the yarn will be hidden, after the first row of sewing you might still notice some holes or loose areas so go ahead and sew another row side by side. (Side by side sewing like an S shape sewing look)

After your second round of sewing, at the end leave about an inch from the edge to attach one of your D rings. Make sure you sew them tight since they will be handling all the weight. Remember we have the other side with about 6 inches of yarn that is used to sew the other D ring.

FINISHED.

Hope sewing them together didn't give you a hard time, but you are basically almost done. Secure your bottom buckle to the right side if you haven't done it and attach the top buckle to your lid with that muscle power of yours or with some tools, just make sure you have them aligned striaght. Get your cute Pearl strap and your long body strap and hook it to your D ring.

Thank You.
Enjoy.
